Israel launched a lot of airstrikes in South Lebanon on Thursday. People there are saying it's one of the biggest bombings in that area since the fighting stopped last year with Hezbollah, the group in Lebanon that's supported by Iran.

The Israeli military said they attacked a place in the south that Hezbollah uses for its stuff. Hezbollah hasn't said anything about it yet, but they said before that they took all their fighters out of the south after the ceasefire that the U.S. helped set up.

The health people in Lebanon said that at least one person was killed and eight others were hurt in these attacks. Big clouds of smoke were seen rising from the hills that were hit in the Nabatieh area, which is about 12 kilometers (8 miles) from the border with Israel.

Israel, which did a lot of damage to Hezbollah in last year's war, has been doing airstrikes in south Lebanon pretty regularly since the ceasefire. They've also hit the southern parts of Beirut, which Hezbollah controls, several times.

The rules of the ceasefire say that Hezbollah and other armed groups aren't supposed to have weapons in the areas near the border, south of the Litani River. This river flows into the Mediterranean Sea about 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of the Israeli border. The rules also say that Israel has to take its soldiers out of the south and that the Lebanese army should move into the border area.

Lebanon and Israel have both said that the other side hasn't fully followed this deal. Israel still has soldiers in five hilltop spots in the south. Rockets have been fired from Lebanon towards Israel twice, but Hezbollah said they weren't involved.

The leader of Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, has said that his group doesn't have any more weapons in south Lebanon, following the ceasefire rules.

The Lebanese police have arrested some Palestinian fighters, including people from Hamas, who they say fired rockets towards Israel from Lebanon on two times since the ceasefire.

Both of those rocket attacks made Israel conduct airstrikes on the southern areas of Beirut.

In the war last year, Israel killed thousands of Hezbollah fighters, destroyed a lot of their weapons, and killed top leaders, including Hassan Nasrallah.

That war got bad after Hezbollah started shooting at Israel when the Gaza war started, saying they were standing with their Palestinian friends in Hamas.
